“I have not always focused on landscapes, but it is where I find myself these days. I feel that I am revisiting my childhood, how I loved sitting in the car watching the hours of lone wilderness blur pass by me as we drove from our far northern home in Alberta. My heart ached for the car to stop so that I could climb out and wander into the endless Pole Pine forests or lag along a stony winding river and watch the raven’s caw from the sky. It was a feeling of belonging, feeling safe and connected to an energy that was bigger than me.”
